GMAT

At the Exam day, you have 3:30 hours to complete the 4 section of the GMAT exam – analytical writing assessment, integrated reasoning, quantitative, and verbal.

GRE

On the GRE 2017 test format, the total duration of the Computer-based GRE General test is 3 hours 45 minutes.

There are six sections with a 10-minute break following the third section.

Verbal Reasoning — Measures your ability to analyze and evaluate written material and synthesize information obtained from it, analyze relationships among component parts of sentences and recognize relationships among words and concepts.

Quantitative Reasoning — Measures problem-solving ability using basic concepts of arithmetic, algebra, geometry and data analysis.

Analytical Writing — Measures critical thinking and analytical writing skills, specifically your ability to articulate and support complex ideas clearly and effectively.

SAT

SAT is the Standard college admission in US. It is run by the College Board. By measuring key scale of Scholastic Aptitude Test, the colleges will know how prepared you are.  It is compulsory to take if you are applying abroad. Depending upon which country you are applying, your score in it will account for as much as 50% of the admission decision.  In USA, all four year colleges accept the test. It is also applicable if you are USA student and trying to apply in Canada or UK.

SAT is the very important requirement id you are thinking of applying to any school or university in USA. Depending on SAT score it decided if you are getting an admission in any school or college to US.

The ideal time to take SAT for the first time is usually in winter of your junior year. Your testing schedule may be different, however, especially if you need SAT score for another purpose or are required to take it by your school.

There are three aspects of preparing for SAT:

  • Learning the logic of test.
  • Studying the content.
  • Practicing the questions.

First you have to calculate your score goal in SAT and then you need to decide how to get there. You can also go through different online practices.  Many book are available in the market which helps you score good in SAT.

TOEFL

People around the world who are interested going abroad for further studies take TOEFL.  There are more than 30 million people in the world who are preparing for TOEFL. Here are the people whom TOEFL is helpful:

TOEFL is accepted in more than 130 countries by more than 10000 intuitions, colleges, and agencies. Immigration department use them to issue residential and work visas. Individual use them to measure their progress in learning English.

There are different sites where free as well as paid preparation materials can be found.  Also, there are many books available in the market.

TOEFL tests have more than 50 test dates per year. TOEFL test cab be taken as much as you want but you cannot take it more than once in 12 days period. If you already have your test appointment you cannot register for another taste date.

IELTS

The International English Language Testing System, IELTS is the world’s most popular English Language proficiency test for higher education globally. It is of two types: General Training and Academic. Students take Academic module. IELTS consist of four sections namely Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening which has to be completed within 3 hours.

It consists of 3 sections in which you have to read the paragraph or the diagram and answer the provided questions. The questions are usually; multiple choice, matching information, matching headings, matching features, matching sentence endings and summary completion.

It constists of two tasks; Task 1 in which you have to explain visual information like charts, diagram, graphs etc in 20 minutes. Next is Task 2 in which you have to write an essay in 40 minutes. The essay consists of following criteria: provide a solution, evaluate a problem, compare and contrast different ideas or opinion and challenge an idea or opinion.

The speaking task is an interview with the examiner that lasts between 11 to 14 minutes. It consists of 3 parts on which in first part the examiner asks familiar questions, in second part examiner will give u a booklet and you have to talk on certain topic, in third part the examiner will ask you more detailed questions based on part 2.

In listening task, you will be given 30 minutes and 10 minutes extra to transfer your answer. It consists of 4 tasks and there are 40 questions. You will be given to hear monologue or conversation. The task type includes: multiple choice questions, summary, notes, summary, flow charts, yes/no/notgiven, labeling a diagram, plan or map, classification and matching.
